Your doctor will seek your permission to be included on the reminder system.
A reminder notice from your doctor may be issued from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. You may receive messages via reception or nursing staff or via the online booking system, on behalf of your doctor
If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor, or reception know. Or by simply clicking opt out on reminders via phone messages.
The staff are trained and dedicated to serve you and you will be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. In return, we ask that you and any visitor accompanying you to the Practice treat our administrative and nursing staff with the same courtesy and respect.
Greystanes Family Doctors has a ZERO TOLERANCE approach to any verbal, aggressive and violent abuse and behaviour towards our staff or other patients. We respectfully advise you that abuse and/or violence will not be tolerated.
If a patient or a visitor accompanying a patient in Greystanes Family Doctors, is abusive, aggressive or violent towards our reception or nursing staff, or independent doctors in attendance and/or other patients the police will be called and may result in you being removed from the Premise and management and/or the independent doctor(s) reserves the right to remove you from their patient list

Longer consultation times are available with your doctor, please ask the receptionists if you require some extra time with your doctor at time of booking.
If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, this can organised this for you. Please let us know when you make the appointment.
Due to COVID 19 Home visits remain at the discretion of your treating doctor.
Emergencies will always be given priority and reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay.
Care Outside Opening hours
For care outside opening hours there is an accredited after hours service, from 6pm weeknights, 12pm on Saturdays and all day Sundays and Public Holidays.

Appointment Reminders
The online booking system is set up to automatically send you an SMS reminder the day before your appointment, unless you have opted out or do not have a mobile phone.
Upon receiving the reminder SMS, if you could kindly confirm your appointment by replying “YES” or "NO" if you need to cancel the appointment.
You can also call on 9631 5900 and discuss with the friendly reception team.
Preventative Health reminders
Your doctor may issue you with a clinical reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care.
This includes reminders for annual vaccinations,(flu), immunisations (Adult and child), health assessments, cervical screening and routine blood tests.
If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor, reception know. Or by simply clicking opt out on reminders via phone messages. SMS reminders are sent on behalf of your doctor as a commitment to preventative health care.
Recalls
You will be sent SMS messages/ phone call to follow up important matters, such as test results.
If you have opted out of receiving these reminders or you do not have a mobile phone, reception will contact you on the doctor's behalf about recalls by other means.
Opting out of recalls and reminders
If you would like to stop receiving recalls or reminders or any communications from your doctor, please let the receptionist know so your communication preferences can be updated in our system to disable them.
If your GP orders blood, radiology or other tests during your consultation, Patients are requested to make a follow up appointment with the doctor at least one week after having the test performed.
As a general estimation guide:
Due to their personal nature, no results will be discussed over the phone outside of a telephone consultation (with the exception of INR results for patients on anticoagulants). Patients are requested to make a follow up appointment with their doctor
Prescriptions, Referrals and/or Doctors Certificates are by consultation only.
This is necessary to ensure the prescription/ referral/ certificate is appropriate and that all relevant information is passed on.
Your GP may offer you the option of receiving an eScript (your prescription sent to your phone) to find out more information please discuss with your GP during your next visit.
Apart from a telehealth consultation, The Doctors may be contacted during normal opening hours via phone message.
A phone message will be taken by reception staff and they will advise you when it is likely that the doctor will return your call.
Please note due to the privacy of your health information, no requests or messages will be taken via email. As security of email communications cannot be guaranteed. There is a risk that emails and attachments could be read by someone other than the intended recipient.
Greystanes Family Doctors does not encourage patient information to be sent to the doctor via email. For more information regarding the practice email policy please ask at reception.

Complaints are taken very seriously. Upon receipt of a complaint we will examine the complaint and instigate internal procedures.
Greystanes Family Doctors will endeavour to respond to your complaint within 30 days of submission. We may need you to provide more details about the complaint in order to be able to respond properly.
Unfortunately, due to doctor availability at this stage, new patients (including patients where it has been over 3 years since last visit) will be unable to be accommodated.
**The rooms will CLOSE for a Christmas break from 5pm,
19th of December 2024 until Monday the 13th January 2025**
A Gap fee for general consultations has been introduced.
Bulk Billing will still be available for:
* Patients under 16
* Patients 65 years and older
* Patients with a Concession/ Health /Pensioner Card
* Appointments for certain immunizations only
